Accenture Purchases Comtech Group, a Canadian Capital Projects Consulting Firm

Comtech Group, a program management and consulting firm for infrastructure projects in the US and Canada, has been bought by Accenture (NYSE: ACN). The agreement’s terms were kept a secret.

With its headquarters located in Toronto, Comtech Group was established in 1994. Transportation, infrastructure, building, industrial production, power and utility companies in the public and private sectors are among its clientele. Large-scale, long-term infrastructure projects like urban transit, auto manufacturing procedures, nuclear and renewable energy, and building restoration are made possible with the assistance of Comtech Group. The approximately 300 employees of the company offer a variety of consultancy and project management skills in the areas of manufacturing and facility engineering, process control automation, and construction management. The Comtech Group maintains offices in both the US and Canada.

The action comes after Accenture recently strengthened its capital projects expertise in North America by acquiring Anser Advisory, a renowned advisory and management firm for infrastructure projects in the United States.

Accenture is currently extending its capacity for capital projects in Canada with Comtech Group. These competencies include digitalization, project structure, estimating, and planning; work monitoring; and helping clients manage and carry out all project phases. Accenture also assists customers in creating smarter, more effective infrastructure from the beginning for production, transportation, and energy transformation. Comtech Group joins Industry X, Accenture’s digital engineering and manufacturing service, similar to Anser Advisory.

“With Comtech Group, we will help our clients deliver mission-critical infrastructure projects on time and within budget,” stated Aaron Saint, Accenture’s North America lead for Industry X. To better plan, measure, and monitor how these initiatives are carried out, this calls for industry expertise, “boots on the ground” knowledge, and increasingly, artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital skills.
