Journey into Electromobility and ejoin
Martin was not fascinated with cars. It’s like all people – he tried an electric car. He feels that the car is just a tool for him to move. After the ride, when Martin started to study more about electromobility, it started to make a lot of sense to him, and it was only in its early days in Slovakia.
When he studied the use of alternative energy sources at the Technical University in Košice, he recognized about ten years ago that “we are wrong.”
Martin discovered ejoin by accident. He organized the Ecomobility Day in Košice before COVID-19 started, and he also invited the CEO of Ejoin. And that’s where it all started.

As a Sales Manager, Martin focused on the fundamentals of Ecomobility and prioritized his goals. His role at ejoin revolves around growing its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and expanding its market reach. It encompasses:
Building a Public Charging Network for EVs: Martin’s primary focus is on establishing a robust public charging network for electric vehicles. This involves not only identifying optimal locations for charging stations but also ensuring that these stations meet the highest standards of efficiency and reliability. The goal is to create a seamless experience for EV drivers, making charging convenient, accessible, and fast.
Marketing Strategy: Martin leads marketing efforts to promote solutions developed by ejoin. This includes brand positioning, customer outreach and communication strategies that emphasize the unique value of its high-performance charging systems. It emphasizes both the environmental benefits of EV adoption and the cutting-edge technology behind ejoin’s charging solutions.
Partnership Development: Martin is also responsible for building relationships with foreign partners. This includes identifying potential collaborators who share ejoin’s vision of revolutionizing the EV landscape and helping expand its international footprint.
Sales of High-Performance Charging Systems: On the sales side, Martin focuses on promoting and selling ejoin’s high-performance charging systems. These systems are designed for optimal efficiency, with power outputs reaching up to 400kW (“All-in-One Dispenser” solution), and its flagship 720kW fully liquid-cooled power unit was developed in collaboration with Huawei. This cutting-edge technology allows for faster charging times and improved energy management, setting us apart in the competitive EV charging market.
Leveraging Customer Feedback and Team Synergy
Martin believes, ejoin has a big advantage of being the second largest Charge Point Operator (CPO) in EV industry in Slovakia. The company has great experience from its charging network and also a lot of feedback from its customers.
Martin shares, “What we develop and manufacture in our company, we use in our network.” “We listen to customers’ feedback and make changes in our chargers,” he added.
Ultimately, the cooperation of both teams, whether network or development, is very important. “A friendly environment mainly helps to foster innovation and collaboration within the team,” he quoted.
Portable Solutions and High-Power Innovations
ejoin has a wide portfolio for each charging case. However, there are two products that highlight ejoin’s key innovations—–Portable AC Charger (PORTY) and Liquid cooled Terminal solution.
PORTY is a portable AC charger with replaceable connectors with OCPP, 4G, and GPS. This is very popular for fleets. Employees can charge their company EVs at home. Employers can also see how much electricity their employees charge and can refund the costs. In addition, they don’t have to install wall boxes. They can uninstall when the employee leaves the company. ejoin supplies that solution to many CPOs.
Additionally, ejoin has developed Liquid liquid-cooled Terminal solution collaborating with Huawei solution, which generates up to 720kW power, enabling ultra-fast charging. This solution has a power unit that is fully liquid-cooled. It has lower operating costs, longer lifespan and has higher efficiency in comparison with other air-cooled power units. It can be supported by batteries and has made it possible to charge up to 12 EVs.
A Vision for a Sustainable Electric Future
Martin tends to listen to everyone. Whether his colleagues, management or subordinates, especially he listens to his customers. To describe his leadership approach, he said, “We define our goals and look for the best path together.”
Electric trucks will soon be popular, like electric cars. Chinese battery company is already working on batteries for planes. Batteries will be soon in each vehicle. Martin shares, “Today I have electric: car, motorcycle and kick scooter.” “My vision for EV is clear – everything will be electric,” he added. He emphasizes on No hydrogen, no e-fuel method. Anyone who understands this knows that these things are nonsense in transport and what it all costs.
ejoin’s energy mix from Renewable Energy Sources is improving every year, so EVs are becoming better for the planet every year. That’s why Martin sees EVs as sustainable and less of a burden on the planet.
Competing and Overcoming Challenges
Addressing the challenges, Martin believes misinformation is the biggest challenge has to fight in Slovakia. “People don’t trust experts; they trust strangers in comments,” he stated.
Chinese companies are another challenge for him, not only in EVs but also in charging stations, as they provide cheaper EV solutions than ejoin. However, ejoin has better services and the courage to test chargers on real EVs and in real conditions, where Chinese companies usually test cars on emulators.
Encouraging Collaboration While Guarding Against Risks
Martin fosters a collaborative environment in the workplace. He always welcomes all new ideas and has the ability to bring change to the EV industry. He emphasizes, “We must be very careful because we are sometimes tempted by fraudsters.”
“If there is customer demand for innovation, we can quickly launch new partnerships and projects,” he added.
Daily Dive into E-Mobility Trends and Innovations
The EV sector is developing very fast. To keep aligned with the emerging trends and developments happening in the industry, Martin reads everyday news about e-mobility, batteries and renewable energy sources from relevant sources. He double checks each “groundbreaking” information and shares it on his LinkedIn profile. “I’m focusing on what I’m doing today,” he quoted.
Enthusiasm for Emerging EV Technologies
Martin is always excited about upcoming technologies or advancements in the EV market. Currently, he is looking for two things—Batteries and Electric motorcycles. The EV market is witnessing progressive development in EV batteries categorized in solid state and Lithium iron phosphate (LFP). Martin shares, LFPs are indestructible, they don’t burn, and their capacity and charging speed gets better every year.
Martin is thrilled by the advancements happening in Electric motorcycles. He believes this will be very painful for bikers who love the noise and stink from exhaust. However, he suggests bikers understand the benefits of EVs, such as drivability and cost-effectiveness. He is a big fan of two brands in this industry – Flux Motorcycles and Stark Future.
Martin also has an interest in Personal Drones and Self-driving cars. He believes Tesla is doing an excellent job by producing self-driving cars. He also mentioned that the concept of Robotaxi will change the Automobile Industry, and he is thankful to Elon Musk for that.
Driving Change with a Purpose
Martin’s advice to aspiring personalities in the EV market is, “The most important thing is the client. You have to be aware of why you are doing it.”
“I’m not into electromobility for the money but for my daughter,” he added. Martin knows that his efforts to accelerate the transition to electromobility can mitigate the consequences of climate change.
“Don’t do it for the money; do it for the ones you love,” he quoted.
