Aldi has announced plans to strengthen its Scottish business with an investment of more than £43 million over the next two years. The initiative will see the opening of two new stores in Bishopbriggs and Dumbarton in 2026. In addition, the retailer will expand and modernise its stores in Greenock, Perth, Linlithgow, Paisley, and Stirling.
The upgrades will enhance space for chilled food and Specialbuys, along with redesigned health and beauty and bakery sections, offering customers a more convenient and enjoyable shopping experience.
Sandy Mitchell, regional managing director of Aldi Scotland, said, “We are proud of another successful year in Scotland. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to our customers, local suppliers, and the communities we serve.”
Mitchell also highlighted Aldi’s focus on Scottish-sourced products and the retailer’s new national charity partnership with CHAS, supporting children and families across the country.
Earlier this month, Aldi made headlines by opening five new stores in just 24 hours in locations including Uxbridge, Northallerton, Pershore, Old Kent Road in London, and Yate in Bristol.
Looking ahead, Aldi plans to continue expanding its store network in Scotland while deepening relationships with local suppliers and delivering greater value to its customers.
